At Medical Net Systems, we take security and disaster management very seriously. We are continuously evaluating new security threats and deploying appropriate countermeasures. Your data will be protected by state-of-the-art security, which includes these features: - MNS-owned servers at MNS owned secure data center. We operate our own servers (no third-party hosting) in a secure data center.
- SSL connections. We use industry standard encryption via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) connections, the same data security widely used for transmitting sensitive data such as credit card numbers. These transmissions are virtually impossible for outsiders to break.
- Secure logins. Industry standard username/password security, combined with lockout after several failed login attempts, prevents unauthorized access and "brute force" hacking attempts.
- Assault identification. Assaults on the system can be identified with our unique Event Tracker.
- Application security. Robust application security prevents inappropriate access to data.
- Server-side session management. Server-side session management prevents information from being listed in the browser's "history" list.
With regard to disaster management, the same effort has been expended. We know that our systems must not fail. To prevent this, we have enacted the following backup measures: - Redundancy. Redundant servers, storage, and communication lines (with auto-failover) at multiple locations prevent outages.
- Software monitoring. Sophisticated software monitors the availability of our site. In the unlikely event that an outage occurs, a technician will be immediately paged and will immediately begin to resolve the problem.
- Real-time backup. Changes to the database are backed up to an offsite location as they happen. In the event of a fire or other disaster, data can be recovered to the minute before the event occurred.
- Backup tapes. As a final layer of defense, backup tapes are taken offsite to an undisclosed location every day. If the worst should happen (such as destruction of multiple facilities), we will be able to recover your data promptly.
- Own power source. In the event of a power failure, our diesel generators will provide the electricity needed to keep your system available.
